Pretty Pink Parchlet

Hiya. Today I was on a mission to finish prepping for the Hochanda show next week on Thursday, type up the producer notes and the instructions for the sample cards I have done without any excuses. I love creating artwork but don't like doing instructions ... Actually I hate doing anything that needs me to write words. My arm has been really sore and has been for a few weeks now, probably from moving the things from my my place to my mum's. It took me 2mths to finish sorting everything out and empty my property. It was such a relief when I emptied the last few things. I am beginning to feel I am falling behind on everything I need to get done so I was determined to sit down, focus and work.

And then, along the way, I got distracted and ended up creating a parchlet. A pretty little thing that took less than half hour. The camera on my phone is playing up so it was really hard to take proper step by step photos so if they are blurry, sorry. This is what I made.

Groovi Plates Used:
Nested Squares Picot Cut Die & Groovi Plate Set (ACC-DI-30698-66)
Tina's Wildflower Parchlet (GRO-FL-40974-01)
Straight Pattern Border No.1 Grid (GRO-GG-40350-14)

1.) Emboss the double square outlines and part of the floral design from the wildflower parchlet plate using the Pergamano 1mm tool (or groovi no.1).

2.) From the nested squares picot outlines plate, emboss the smallest double square outlines in the centre using the Pergamano 1mm tool (or groovi no.1) and the zig zag with a Pergamano stylus 0.5mm (or groovi no.1).

3.) Over the straight pattern border grid no.1 plate, emboss the top row of dots from the 2nd border using the Pergamano 1.5mm tool (or groovi no.2).

4.) Emboss crosses between the dots using the Pergamano stylus 0.5mm.

5.) Emboss fine veins in the flower petals and the zig zag from the nested squares picot outlines plate in the corners between the floral design and the outside squares using the Pergamano stylus 0.5mm. Colour on the back using Perga Colours Exclusive pens. Cut the piece just outside the square.

6.) Using the picot nested squares Fresh Cut die, cut the 3rd from inside square frame from pink parchment. Mount the worked regular parchment piece on the picot cut pink parchment, white and black card using brads. Mount a blossom pink paper flower in the centre using a brad. Stick this whole piece on 4"x4" folded white card.

I guess I better get on with my 'To finish today' list as play time is over. All products available at https://claritystamp.com

Take Care. Enjoy.

Snowflake Parchlet

Good Morning. Who is coming to Leyburn tomorrow? I am so excited because I get to spend the whole day with friends, demo, eat lots of sweets and chocolate and get to be in the happiest place for the day. This week has been quite a roller coaster week with lots of downs but the ups definitely more than made up for the downs thanks to the love, support and encouragement from all my friends on FB. All the more reason to look forward to tomorrow.

One of the things I did to find the happy me (other than eat tons of chocolate) is create this parchlet and actually remembered to take step by step photos ... Lots of photos!

Groovi Plates Used:
Nested Squares Picot Cut Die & Groovi Plate Set (ACC-DI-30698-66)
Tina's Christmas Baubles (GRO-CH-41009-15)
Small Snowflake Duet Plate & Grid Set (GRO-GG-40762-XX)
Diagonal Pattern No.1 Grid (GRO-GG-40354-14)

All products available at https://claritystamp.com

1.) Using the nested squares picot cut die, cut the 3rd from inside square and using the corresponding Groovi plate, emboss the double square outlines. If you don't have the die/Groovi set, you can use the 4th from inside double square outlines from the nested scallops squares (GRO-PA-40573-03) which will give you a slightly larger square and using the 2-needle perforating tool and scissors, it can be cut out at the end.

2.) Emboss the bauble inside the square.

3.) Emboss the snowflake from the snowflake outline plate inside the bauble.

4.) Emboss the dots inside the snowflake from the corresponding snowflake on the snowflake grid plate.

5.) Emboss the circles and the bow.

6.) Still on the back, using the Perga Liner B pencil, colour the area between bauble and the snowflake and between the double square outlines.

7.) Blend the colouring using a blending nib and Dorso oil for a smooth finish.

8.) Over the diagonal pattern grid, emboss the dots of the border on either side of the bauble.

9.) Turn the parchment to the front, line up the dots over the same border on the plate and perforate the holes inside the border (left side of the photo) and picot cut between all the perforations (right side of the photo). I love how the hexagon perforations fall out as stars when picot cut.

10.) To finish, layer and mount the work on black and white card using brads and stick this on folded white card. Add a little sparkle using Perga Glitter, mapping pen and Perga Glitter.

I love doing parchlets because they are quick and fun. Great for practicing various techniques on too. If you want more parchlet inspiration, why not join us on the Parchlet Treasures FB group page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/366959417034268/?ref=bookmarks

Looking forward to meeting everyone coming to Leyburn tomorrow.

Take care. Enjoy.

Doodle Wreath with 3D Flower

Good Morning. I have a date with my babies today.

I'm off with Meg for college enrolment and then shopping before she starts next week. She is going to be doing a one year Foundation Course in Art and Design which is a diagnostic route to figure out what she may want to do study at university and do in the creative world.

Dylan starts in a couple of weeks at University of Nottingham to study Computer Science. He has decided to come along. It will be so nice to spend a few hours with my babies before they both get busy with what they need to do from next week. Last night they both came up to my room (well technically my sister's room which I'm using temporarily) after dinner and ice-cream and spent a long time just talking and laughing amongst themselves. Definitely the sound of happiness.

Anyway, I have to go so here are the steps for the afternoon demo I did yesterday on Hochanda at 3pm for this card ...

These are the Groovi plates I used:
- Alphabet A5 Square Groovi Plate Mate
- Groovi Plate Mate for Border Plates
- Alphabet and Numbers A4 Square Groovi Plate Mate
- Nested Squares Extension (GRO-WO-40538-15)
- Tina’s Floral Doodle Wreath (GRO-FL-40830-03)
- Tina’s Rosie Doodle Wreath (GRO-FL-40831-03)
- Tina’s Rosie Doodle Border (GRO-FL-40832-09)
- Tina’s 3D Flowers and Butterflies (GRO-FL-40553-15)

1.) Emboss the frame from the nested squares extension plate using the Groovi or Pergamano no.1 embossing tool.

2.) From the rosie doodle wreath plate, emboss the wreath in the middle of the frame.

3.) From the floral doodle wreath plate, emboss the corner design inside frame corners.

4.) Emboss the border design in the 4 sections of the frame from the rosie doodle border plate.

5.) On the back, colour the floral designs and between the double outlines of the frame using Perga Colours Exclusive pens. Colour the section between the inside square and outside wreath circle and inside the small circle with Perga Liner B pencil and blend using a blending nib and Dorso oil.

6.) On a spare piece of parchment, emboss 3 large, 3 medium and 1 small flower. Colour the small flower on the back using Perga Colours Exclusive.

7.) On the front, using the 2-needle bold perforating tool, perforate the section between the border design and the frame and outside the main square and outside all the 3D flower elements. Picot cut between all the perforations (Ooops forgot the photo of the step ... again).
Layer and mount the work on Rainbow River designer paper and white card using brads. Layer the 3D flower elements and attach it in the middle of the small circle using a brad and stick this whole piece on 8”x8” folded white card.

Tomorrow don't forget to watch Barbara on Hochanda at 10am and 2pm ... Celebrating Claritystamp Ltd 25th Anniversary. On Sunday, Barbara is back on Hochanda between 2-4pm followed by Linda and Paul taking over at 6pm and 8pm on Sunday and on Monday at 9am, 1am and 5pm with the really exciting One Day Special which is the most brilliantly clever idea in the parchment world. There will be lots of ideas and inspirational treats from the design team. It is a really exciting weekend for Clarity and hope everyone can join in with the celebrations.

P.S. Meg hates shopping and Dylan loves shopping ... Wish me luck!!!

Take care. Enjoy.

Doodle Wreath Plates and Thank You

Hiya. I can't believe my last step by step blog piece I did was May 2017. How did time run away so fast? I am (yes, once again) going to try revive this blog ... I hope ... Maybe ... Let's just leave it at 'We will see ...'

By the way why is it called a 'blog'? I have lost count the number of times I've typed 'blob' instead of 'blog'. Is it short for something? I should google search it I guess.

Thank you so much everyone who tuned in to watch the shows on Hochanda and who purchased the Groovi plates, iibooks, tools plus more. A massive thank you to TeamClarity and the awesome Design Team who create the most amazing samples for all the Claritystamp shows. Thank you to Charlie, Hayley and the Hochanda team for today.

For the 11am show, we created this card...

Step by Step for the card ...

These are the Groovi plates I used:
- Alphabet A5 Square Groovi Plate Mate
- Groovi Plate Mate for Border Plates
- A5 Nested Squares (GRO-PA-40037-03)
- Tina’s Floral Doodle Wreath (GRO-FL-40830-03)
- Tina’s Rosie Doodle Wreath (GRO-FL-40831-03)
- Tina’s Floral Doodle Border (GRO-FL-40833-09)

1.) Over the nested squares plate, emboss the 1st square from the outside and the 5th and 6th squares from the inside using the Groovi or Pergamano no.1 embossing tool. From the floral doodle wreath plate, emboss the floral wreath and circles in diagonal corners.

2.) Emboss the same wreath and circles in the opposite diagonal corners.

3.) Emboss the corner designs from the rosie doodle wreath plate in the corners outside the middle square and the corners inside the outside square.

4.) From the floral doodle border plate, emboss part of the border inside the top and bottom of the small square.

5.) Emboss the words 'Thank you'  inside the square between the border designs from the A5 square plate mate. The photo below is what the words look like on the back as you emboss. I always emboss the letters out on a scrap piece of parchment to work out the spacing that I can then use as a template for the main piece.

6.) From the back, colour the floral designs and letters using Perga Colours Exclusive pens. The photo below is with the back facing up and as you can see I have gone over the white lines in a number of places but it does not matter as on the front, those embossed lines will still be white. Colour the section between the small square and the middle square and the space between outside circles and the outer square with Perga Colour B pencil and blend using a blending nib and Dorso oil.

7.) From the front, using the 2-needle bold perforating tool, perforate the section between the outside middle square and inside inner wreath circle and outside the main square. Picot cut between all the perforations. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the step but here is a larger image of the finished card to show where to perforate and cut.
Layer and mount the work on Northern Lights designer paper and white card using brads and stick this on 7”x7” folded white card.

Tomorrow I will blog the step by steps for the demo I did in the afternoon 3pm show. Off to bed ... after ice-cream and some time with my babies.

Take care. Enjoy.

A Little Faith

Good evening.

It's been a crazy day and was beginning to feel that I was not going to be able to get my twinchie done today. But with a little faith, I was able to get a couple done while cooking dinner (Maybe, I should clarify ... While burning dinner because I was having too much fun).

It is so lovely to see everyone twinchies. So many great pieces and all so beautiful. One lady suggested creating a sampler with them which is such a wonderful idea. I may keep all mine in a box and find a huge canvas at some point and stick them all on there. It would make a lovely wall piece.

Today's little ones are ...

I'm going to do a step by step for the pink Faith one ... Reminds me of sherbet. Yum.

All the embossing and colouring is done on the back and the perforating and cutting on the front.

1.) Emboss the 3rd from inside squares and scallops from the Scallops Nested Squares plate.

2.) Using the Beauty Word Chain border plate, emboss the word 'Faith' from it and from the 3D Flowers and Butterflies plate, emboss flowers in the corners.

3.) Emboss dots around the word and outside the flowers from the Diagonal Basic Grid. Emboss the flower petals using the ball tools 6, 4.5, 3 and 1.5 gently each time as you go down in sizes and allowing the parchment to rest between each layer.

4.) Colour on the back using Perga Colours Exclusive.

5.) Perforate with the 2-needle perforating tool and cut between the perforations using parchment scissors (or Perga Cutters).

6.) Finish by mounting the parchment piece on pink parchment (7x7cm), white card (7x7cm) and black card (8x8cm) using brads and sticking this on white card (10x10cm).

I'm exhausted so off to bed I go wishing for dreams of sherbet sweets. Good night.

Take care. Enjoy.

Little Pleasures

Good Evening.

Oh my goodness... I had not expected the response I got regarding this idea of tiny pieces of art work on parchment. It makes me so happy to know that it was very much liked and I will see a lot of these little art pieces everyone creates. Exciting.

I would also like to add that one everyday is a target for me as I get very easily distracted from what I want to do and always end up doing what I need to do. This way, without any excuses (hopefully), I will set aside about half hour to do something I really enjoy and shut out the world.

I did play with the idea of ATC size pieces but those would be just that little bit bigger and for me time is a real big issue so wanted to keep it as small as possible. I will also be using lots of work that is just lying around unfinished ... great way to have some work mounted up without the pressure of having to complete it as a larger project. It would be great to see what I can rescue from work I have done and not liked when finished.

Today I managed to get 4 more done. The orange one was a rescue piece from the time I was designing pattern packs so has a traditional-ish feel to it.

And today step by step is once again created using the plates from the  Groovi Starter Kit Deluxe...

1.) Emboss the 5th from the inside square from the nested square plate.

2.) Emboss the word 'JoY' from the A5 square plate mate followed by flowers (next to the bracket symbols) on both sides of the word.
Emboss stems by using the hills from the mountains and hills plate.
Emboss mountains and sun from the mountains and hills plate.
Emboss birds (next to the flower symbol) from the plate mate.

3.) For colour, I used Perga Liner B pencils on the back because I wanted a smooth colour which I can achieve by using Dorso oil (or blending solution) to rub the colour. As you can see, I have coloured in very roughly. If you are not going to use a blending solution, take you time to colour the areas neatly.

4.) Using a paper stump, cut n dry nibs or a tiny amount of cotton wool wrapped around a cocktail stick and Dorso oil, blend the colour. You need the tiniest amount of the oil to move the colour.

5.) Normally I do my embossing before I colour my work but I changed my mind ... I was going to colour the birds and flowers then decided to emboss them instead. Colour the word with a black micron pen on the back.

6.) Using a 2-needle perforating tool, perforate outside the square and cut between the perforations using parchment scissors (or Perga Cutters). Using the bold 1-needle perforating tool, perforate a hole for a flower centre in the middle of all the flowers.

6.) To finish, mount the piece on blue parchment (7x7cm), white card (7x7cm) and black card (8x8cm) using brads and stick this on white card (10x10cm).

I have had so much pleasure creating these today. I can safely say I well and truly hooked making these. Once again, thank you for all your encouragement, love and support on this crazy venture and looking forward to seeing what tiny pieces everyone creates.

Take Care. Enjoy.
