Henna Corners

Here is the step by step for the card I demo-ed on Create and Craft on Thursday, 18/8/22 at 3pm for the Pergamano show using the resized A5 square Henna Corners Groovi plates ...

Groovi Plates:
Deluxe Groovi Plate Starter Kit + Butterfly Wreath A5 Square Plate  GRO-SK-40709-XX
Nested Squares Picot Cut Die Set & Groovi Plate  ACC-DI-30698-66
Tina's Henna Corners 1 A5 Square Groovi Plate  GRO-FL-41870-03
Tina's Henna Corners 2 A5 Square Groovi Plate  GRO-FL-41871-03
Tina's 3D Flowers & Butterflies A4 Square Groovi Plate  GRO-FL-40553-15

NOTE:
All the embossing on this project is done on the back.
The colouring on this project is done on the back.
All the perforating and cutting on this project are done from the front.

Step 1: Die cut the 3rd largest picot square on clear parchment paper using the Nested Squares Picot dies. Emboss the double square outlines from the corresponding Nested Picot Squares Groovi plate using the Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 2: In the corners, emboss the design from the Henna Corners 2 Groovi plate - the circles using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 3: From the Henna Corners 1 Groovi plate, emboss outermost mandala design using the Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 4: Below the mandala, emboss the border from the Henna Corners 2 Groovi plate - the circles using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 5: Repeat above the mandala.

Step 6: On rainbow parchment (I have used Paradise Island), emboss the mandala from the Henna Corners 2 Groovi plate - the circles using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 7: Using the Groovi No.3 and No.4 tools (or Pergamano 1.5mm and 3mm embossing ball tools) gently emboss inside all the circles starting with the largest ball tool and remembering to let the parchment rest between layers. I have embossed 4 layers on these circles.

Step 8: Still working on the back, colour using Perga Colours Exclusive pens.

Step 9:  From the front, over the super foam, using Pergamano bold 2-needle perforating tool, perforate inside the larger mandala petals on the clear parchment and outside the smaller mandala on the rainbow parchment piece.

Step 10: Picot cut between all the perforations making sure the scissors are over the waste when you cut.

Step 11: On separate pieces of clear parchment emboss the butterflies from the 3D Flowers & Butterflies - 1 large and 2 small ones. Emboss, colour, perforate and picot cut them.

To Finish: Add as much or as little (or none) Perga glitter as you wish.
Using the Nested Squares Picot Diescut the 2nd largest picot square from corresponding Rainbow Paper.
Mount the parchment piece and 3D henna mandala on the rainbow paper using brads.
Stick this on folded white card and stick the 3D butterflies on the card using a teeny tiny amount of Perga Glue on the back of the butterfly bodies.

The original Henna Corners Groovi plates were larger A4 square plates. Here is a comparison of the same card design using the 2 different size plates. The smaller card has been made using the smaller A5 square plates on the clear parchment as per the step by steps above. The larger card has been made using the larger A4 square plates on the rainbow parchment.

The next couple of photos are the 2 sides of a hanging ornament for my Christmas tree. It has been made using both the large and the small Henna Corners 1 Groovi plates.

Butterflies, Butterflies and Some More Butterflies

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening. Here is another fun piece I created using the Butterfly Petites Collections. It is a fairly simple one as only the little circles have been embossed and there is no picot cutting. Of course, you could do more if you wish and it will look very pretty. I just wanted to de-stress with mostly just line art and colouring.

Groovi Plates:
Deluxe Groovi Plate Starter Kit + Butterfly Wreath A5 Square Plate  GRO-SK-40709-XX
Nested Squares Picot Cut Die Set & Groovi Plate  ACC-DI-30698-66

Mini Straight & Diagonal Basic Bold A6 Square Groovi Piercing Grids  GRO-GG-41099-23

NOTE:
All the embossing on this project is done on the back.
The colouring on this project is done on the back.

Step 1: Die cut the 5th largest nested picot square on rainbow parchment paper (I've used California Sunset) using the Nested Squares Picot dies. Before cutting, make sure you have placed the die with the cutting side down on the softer matt side facing up of the rainbow parchment.
With the glossy brighter side facing up (this is the back of the work), emboss the double square outlines from the Butterfly Mariposa plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collection using the Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 2: In the centre, emboss the butterfly wreath from the Butterfly Schmetterling plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collection - the circles using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 3: From the Butterfly Schmetterling plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collectionemboss the floral corner design - the circles using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).
Repeat in the other 3 corners.

Step 4: In the corner of the inside square, emboss part of the corner design from the Butterfly Schmetterling plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collection using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).
Repeat in the other 3 corners.

Step 5: Over the basic straight grid from the Mini Straight & Diagonal Basic Bold Piercing Grid set, emboss 5 dots extending out from the corner designs using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool).
Repeat in the other 3 corners.

Step 6: Over the basic straight grid from the Mini Straight & Diagonal Basic Bold Piercing Grid set, using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool), emboss dots in the butterfly wings, turning the parchment for each wing.
Repeat in the other 3 corners.

Step 7: Using the Groovi No.3 and No.4 tools (or Pergamano 1.5mm and 3mm embossing ball tools) gently emboss inside circles starting with the largest ball tool and remembering to let the parchment rest between layers. I have embossed 4 layers on these circles.

Step 8: Still working on the back, colour using Perga Colours Exclusive pens.

Step 9: On clear parchment, from the Butterfly Farfalla plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collectionemboss the butterfly - the circles using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).
Using the Groovi No.3 (or Pergamano 1.5mm) emboss inside circles.
Cut out the butterfly (or picot cut using the 2-needle perforating tool and parchment scissors).

To Finish: Add as much or as little (or none) Perga glitter as you wish.
Using the Nested Squares Picot Diescut the 4th largest nested picot squares from corresponding rainbow paper.
Mount the rainbow parchment piece on the rainbow paper using brads.
Stick this on folded white card.
Using the teeny tiniest amount of Perga glue on the back of the butterfly body, stick it on the card (the glue is not visible because I have Perga Glitter on the front of the butterfly body).

I hope you liked this little project. Please tag me on FB so I can see your artwork using these butterfly plates.

Flutterby Butterflies

Hiya. How is everyone?

Today I'll share with you the step by steps to the card I demo-ed on Create and Craft on 23/7/22. I love butterflies and when they are made from parchment paper they simply look gorgeous and delicate. Add glitter on them and you have little flying bundles of joy sprinkling sparkles and magic around the world. I think my blog name pretty much sums up how much I like butterflies and glitter! Lol

Here is the finished card we will work towards in the blog tutorial ...

Groovi Plates:
Deluxe Groovi Plate Starter Kit + Butterfly Wreath A5 Square Plate  GRO-SK-40709-XX
Nested Squares Picot Cut Die Set & Groovi Plate  ACC-DI-30698-66
Tina's Butterfly Petites Collection A6 Square Groovi Baby Plate Set  GRO-AN-41151-01
Mini Straight & Diagonal Basic Bold A6 Square Groovi Piercing Grids  GRO-GG-41099-23

NOTE:
All the embossing on this project is done on the back.
The colouring on this project is done on the back.
All the perforating and cutting on this project are done from the front.

Step 1: Die cut the 4th largest nested picot square on rainbow parchment paper (I've used Rose Garden) using the Nested Squares Picot dies. Before cutting, make sure you have placed the die with the cutting side down on the softer matt side facing up of the rainbow parchment.
With the glossy brighter side facing up (this is the back of the work), emboss the double square outlines from the corresponding Nested Picot Squares Groovi plate using the Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 2: From the Butterfly Flowers plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collectionemboss butterfly and scallops in the corner of the square using the Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool). Repeat in the other 3 corners.

Step 3: In the centre of the square, from the Butterfly Papillon plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collection, emboss the butterfly - the circles on the stems using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 4: From the Butterfly Corners plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collectionemboss one side of the corner detail trailing out from the heart using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) for the circles and the rest of the remaining line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).
Repeat on the other 3 sides.

Step 5: Decide which side of the butterfly wings you would like as the 3D element. On clear parchment, from the Butterfly Papillon plate in the Tina's Butterfly Petites Collectionemboss the half side of the wing and the 2 flowers that make up the butterfly body In the centre of the square,  - the circles on the stems using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool) and the rest of the line art using the  Groovi No.1 tool (or Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool).

Step 6: On the rainbow parchment piece, over the basic diagonal grid from the Mini Straight & Diagonal Basic Bold Piercing Grid set, emboss dots in the corner designs using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool).
Repeat in the other 3 corners.

Step 7: Over the basic straight grid from the Mini Straight & Diagonal Basic Bold Piercing Grid set, emboss dots around the heart. To do this, using the Groovi No.2 tool (or Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool), emboss a dot. Keep the ball tool on the dot and swivel the parchment slightly so the next hole on the grid is close to the embossed line and emboss a dot over that hole. Repeat all the way around the design.
Repeat on the other 3 corners.

Step 8: Using the Groovi No.3 and No.4 tools (or Pergamano 1.5mm and 3mm embossing ball tools) emboss gently inside circles starting with the largest ball tool and remembering to let the parchment rest between layers. I have embossed 4 layers on these circles.

Step 9: Still working on the back, colour using Perga Colours Exclusive pens.

Step 10: Repeat steps 8 and 9 on the clear parchment piece.

Step 11: From the front, over the super foam, using Pergamano bold 2-needle perforating tool, perforate in the butterfly wings in the corners and in the sections of the trellis.

Step 12: Picot cut between all the perforations making sure the scissors are over the waste when you cut.

To Finish: Add as much or as little (or none) Perga glitter as you wish.
Using the Nested Squares Picot Diescut the 3rd largest nested picot squares from corresponding Rainbow Paper.
Mount the 3D butterfly wing on the rainbow parchment and the rainbow paper using brads.
Stick this on folded white card.

I look forward to seeing your flutterby butterflies using these plates and hope you have as much fun as I do whenever I am making butterflies.
